Welcome to Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church!
Ministering in the Tri-County Area

We're getting a new kitchen!  The construction bid has been awarded to Maitz Construction of Wexford, and all work should be completed by September 15, 2006 (we're keeping our fingers crossed!)  Follow the progress here since the kitchen and Social Hall areas are off-limits for now.

The kitchen was cluttered.

So we cleaned out the clutter...

Then we began tearing things apart...

But how are we going to move this???

Yech!!

Day 1 of demolition - knock out the wall for a new doorway

Anyone know why Tim Hood wrote his name on the wall?

Construction Day 2 - putting up the drywall

Old doorway has been covered over with drywall

Morning of Day 2

The start of Day 3

Day 4 was spent plastering.  Day 5 they painted!

Shhh...don't tell the construction guys I was opening the boxes...

Beginning of Week 2.

This is the corner to the left of the stove.

Base cabinets in corner to right of stove.

Next year we'll have a new kitchen!

...and emptied all the cupboards...

Everything must come down/off/out...

How many guys does it take?

This is going to change...

...and close in the pass-through and old doorway

..or why the walls had been painted orange years ago??

Looking from the kitchen into the fellowship hall through the new doorway

Old doorway is gone, and the new doorway is in place!

Day 2 - end of day - what a difference!

Preparing the walls for plaster and paint...

Is it just me, or is it looking worse instead of better?

I can't wait to see what the cabinets will look like against these walls!

Everything from the kitchen is under this plastic cover, including the stove and the kitchen sink!!

Same area - look at all the storage!

The sink is under the window, and the corner is where the old pass-thru was located.
