j and i have arrived safe and sound. The plane trip went very well, although we had to rush at newark to make our flight as the one out of pgh was delayed due to back up at NJ. But we made it, sprinting down the terminal. Once we arrived in Frankfurt, boy were we confused...No English anywhere...some signs were in English, but we didn't know where we were...After a number of questions at the information desks, we discovered there was a hotel shuttle and eventually found it! We were both bushed when wwe arrivied and after getting here both fell asleep. We just finished dinner...and miss air conditioning. It is 7:15 pm here. A big party is going on inthe lobby and restaurant. It seems everything is pricey.
Our hotel is in the middle of the woods! We took a walk of about a mile before dinner and only found apartments and the couple little shops were shut down because it is Sat. The hotel was the only place to eat. So we are taking it easy here and then see what goes with the tour tomorrow.
Our hotel room 11th floor looks out on acres and acres of trees and we can see the city in the distance. It seems like we are in a residential area on the far outskirts of the city.
We are using a cyber net card in the hotel. We got 45 minutes for 6 euro. So will save some for tomorrow and for our return back here. Well we must go...Will send word tomorrow...and keep you posted on our activities and wanderings and exploring of the great Federal Republic of Germany.
